Massive Marine Ecosystem Crash Along Galicia’s Coast Due To Prolonged Atlantic Heatwave #climate
In this first published ClimateGenn episode for a couple of months, I want to thank subscribers for your patience. I have not been sitting idle but much more trying to digest the appalling consequences of climate heating that we are now experiencing.
[Order COPOUT by Nick Breeze - amzn.to/4boQfnl ]
Everyday on social media, climate graphs and charts are posted with varying degrees of deep red and other markers of urgency. Yet, nothing happens except the posts become more shrill and the problem of climate disaster becomes more irreversible.
As someone who engages a lot with climate science and scientists, somehow I had fallen into a space whereby the actual meaning of these charts had become abstract. Codified and filed away in my mind to avoid real exposure to true meaning.
Then something happened. I arranged to meet with Guillermo Díaz Agras at the marine biology research station in La Grana in Galicia. The research station is a satellite of Santiago University and the team here conduct extensive research along the coast and in the river valley’s, called rias.
What I expected to be an introductory overview of the research station turned into a horrifying cerebral experience; an awakening if you like.
Guillermo showed me a long stream of images of dead dolphins, turtles and otters, saying simply: ‘That was just last week!’. He then explained how much of the indigenous shellfish are dying. The mussels no longer forming in this stretch of coast, the seaweed that bound the mussels to the rocks and the floating platforms, no longer there. The ecosystems that were embedded within them, gone.

The only way the AMOC will be seriously effected is if the Arctic ice melts away completely. If that were to happen (extremely unlikely) it means its too warm to sustain ice, which means there will be virtually no winter in the Northern hemisphere...How is that BAD...??!!

When my wife first suggested that dark matter might be causing global warming I laughed .Dark matter after all should be a constant, I thought. When we began looking at the data I stopped laughing. Dark matter it seems is not a constant. Global Warming is happening but dark matter is the chicken and Co2 is the egg. Dark matter phase transitions appear to be a primary internal heater of the planets. If the solar system passes through an area of higher liquid dark matter content the planets cores would all receive more heat due to increased phase transitions thus heating the earth from the inside out. That means if we redirect part of the dark matter circulation of Venus or Earth to Mars we could warm it up. Mars also passes through streams of dark matter headed to every planet capturing slightly more of these would also help. These streams may be more like intermittent clouds going by on a windy day by the time they reach Mars orbit. Heating of the planet from the inside out would result in : Increased ground temperatures Increased sea temperatures Increased nighttime temperatures Increased volcanic activity Increased earthquakes We are currently passing through the S1 dark Matter stream which, as it is going the opposite direction around the galaxy was described as a dark matter hurricane. From spring to fall the earth is downstream from the sun. And from July to December the earth is traveling with the S1 stream and from January to June we get our maximum ongoing dark matter exposure as we travel into the S1stream. It would be interesting to see if the upper atmosphere temperatures are lower in the spring than the fall due to more incoming dark matter. There have also been peer reviewed papers that discuss dark matter annihilation(or in my hypothesis phase transition)heating the earth from the inside, they did not mention any impact to climate change or the S1 dark matter stream. We may also be subject to surges of dark matter which mean heat at the surface and cool in the upper atmosphere just before. June-July 2020 Earth Mercury Venus Mars Jupiter Saturn conjunctions. This means that the earth passed through several consecutive dark matter streams July 2020 Siberian heatwave and Antarctica temperature spike Jan 9 2022 Venus Earth conjunction this resulted in an increase in the amount of dark matter leaving the sun and Venus March 18 2022 Concordia Station spiked 39 C degrees due to unusual air patterns near Australia North Pole regions hit 30C above normal May 2022 mars crosses the dark matter stream to Saturn May 4, 2022 a 4.7 magnitude Marsquake occurs due to tectonic activity. March 26 2024 the Parker Solar Probe began its lap around the sun on April 4 it came out on the other side of the sun to start back towards Venus. In between it was actually inside of the Alfven Limit which is where I believe the surface of the dark matter sphere that surrounds the sun lies. This would be the equivalent of a speed boat sending a wake towards the earth. April 11 mercury and earth are in an inferior conjunction which would also send a bit of extra dark matter in earths direction. Mid June 2024 multiple heat waves. Venus atmospheric temperatures from 2009-2017 also were higher after conjunctions and the atmospheric wind speeds have increased by 33% probably due to the increase in incoming dark matter. Venus atmospheric temperatures from 2009-2017 also were higher after conjunctions Venus atmospheric tsunami If the dark matter spin off to the sun happens every 5 days on average and coincides with the wave facing the sun it may be proof of dark matter. During conjunctions if the tsunami is facing earth we get an extra surge of dark matter heading to the earth which also affects the time it takes for the tsunami to circle Venus. The gravity well fills up and dumps back to the sun but if it fills faster due to a conjunction it can spill toward the earth resulting in higher temperatures about 60 days later. The streams of liquid dark matter are constantly overflowing the suns dark matter sphere which extends to the Alfven radius. This distance varies dependant on how much dark matter reaches the point at which it vaporizes. (Velocity/gravity/temperature) NASA issued a climate change warning for Mars after Mariner 9 Neptune has been heating up since 2018

Nah, the fossil fuel lobby has utterly misdirected the media from the real issue: global heating, and global heating is the result of a combination of the Greenhouse effect (where water vapor is the number one GHG) trapping solar radiation, and waste heat energy production from our incessant, mindless burning of 8 billion tons or coal per year, as well as 100 million barrels of oil per day, along with half of that again in NG. According to the calculation of polymath, Eliot Jacobson, the total is the equivalent of 20 Hiroshima nuclear bomb blasts PER SECOND, or about 1,400,000 per day, where each one releases 63 trillion BTUs.

*disclaimer: the new results mentioned have not been peer reviewed as yet, van Westen expects that happen though* _Finally_ the message has come home and reached Rene van W. native country headlines. Heard him interviewed on Dutch national radio just now, after our local NYT, Volkskrant, had a big science article on the subject last weekend edition. 2 new results from his group computer model research - chances that AMOC may fail _before_ 2050 are OVER 50% !! That's a _1 in 2 chance_ that temps in this region drop some 5 to 10 degrees C (and more on your islands, Brits! ) Above that, sea levels around Europe will rise a full meter following AMOC failure (= second new fact, temps falling was already known 🥶) That meter extra rise is on top of previous estimates, so 3 meters rise this century is not quite unlikely, and God knows what chances are after 2100. 3 meters up sea levels; imagine our new Hard Right govt plans to build 4 new nuclear plants right behind the dikes in Zealand, you know, that province that drowned after the 1953 storm surge. We indeed built better dikes but they are not based on this extra meter level rise model. Do realize also, Nuke Plants have to be cooled down after exploitatione has been finished for about 50 years. If we get a sudden extra sea level rise following AMOC breakdown (and perhaps, the odd Western Antarctica glacier breaking up as the heat not transported to the North, will rise temps in southern oceans instead) with such a sudden rise, we risk to be out of time required to take down seaside nuclear plants in orderly fashion.

Social scientist who doesn’t understand how protest works. Her assertion that protesting after a policy is made is a “waste of time” would mean no civil rights, no gay rights, no workers rights etc etc. almost all protest is in reaction to bad policy, after the fact, because that is what causes the protest, implementation of it. There are almost no examples of protest affecting a policy during the decision making process. Its like saying “why protest George Floyd’s death? You can’t reverse death?!” Its to prevent future harm, to show dissent, otherwise no reaction to bad policy surely means a normalisation of more bad policy. The protest after the Manchin deal signals to everyone who sees it, look what Biden did, isn’t it wrong, the media report on it, further people see Biden did an anti-climate deal, it affects his electoral strategy etc it serves like any other protest, it hopes to affect further policy and has significant cultural, societal impacts, especially if the cause is just. And for her to say policy cannot be reversed and then mention roe vs wade in the next breath. Come on. Ludicrous. Utterly asinine and defeatist. Her point is really against all protest, unless it is in within a tiny window while policy is decided and the protesters have somehow got insider information of all the dodgy deals behind the scenes 😂 protest is mostly after all other avenues aren’t successful, of course ideally it has a winnable goal, but most seem impossible until theyre not and change happens.

If we kill off life in the oceans the waters become anoxic meaning low or no oxygen, which is followed by a break down of dead plant & animal life at the bottom, that produces a type of acid that gets into the hydrologic (rain) system & when it rains on land, the acid kills life there too. It's happened in Earth's history before.

As one of our football players said Johan Cruijff: every disadvantage has its advantages, meaning the solution lies inside the problem. So by manual acceleration of introduction of all kinds of plant and fish and sea life species that can handle water temperatures, like for instance sargassum seaweed that can be used as a fertilizer on land (also absorbs CO2) and having the species from Spain planted more north ward and doing the same at the other side of the globe more southward planting out more of the species where they can live cooler water species way south and warmer species more towards the equator direction and using river slib or slik to be a nutrient base for kelp forests that they can absorb nutrients from the seafloor, more north ward and planting coral reefs more to the south at the other side of the earth including kelp we might be able to make a disadvantage into an advantage also one could desalinate and put the salts back into the sea but if you do so the brine might kill local sealife whilst making the total salinity higher but if we use for instance the natural evaporation of the sea and use large setups made of roman concrete to take in evaporated sea water and push it downwards into a system to condense it and use an air powered pump and a Tesla valvular conduit to prevent to much back pressure we can also desalinate without brine so this could he used to first supply cities with water and than be used to supply water to te ground water level to build it up again but still the amount of rain that falls inland should be absorbed by the land using a way to let it flow inside the land and then have a kind of cellulose paste make sand into soil like the Chinese do with their great green wall of china given enough biodiversity it will help to make the land better in terms of living life but we need enough ground water levels where the rainfall is going to make a difference so once it falls it adds to the ground water level instead of flowing back into the sea so it need to be absorbed by opening the hardened soil. So a load of work to do but it might be the only option. Also in the Netherlands a lot of fish and sealife is pre grown and planted inside the sea for harvesting later on a bit like the Scandinavian sea farms. Basically doing what is possible If we don't try we might not even have a chance of survival. Desalination in order to make the land fertile again should he used like they do in Isreal but if we do so we need to prevent the brine from destroying the sea life by using kilometers long pipes in order to prevent to much brine in one place using traditional desalination processes. But it could be done by using large setups on the sea using a system that only works at its best by high moist saturation levels just above the sea in order to desalinate without brine and pump it in land and use all kinds of means to get enough water into the ground water basins again 4 of these machines should he enough for a city like mekkah 8 should he enough for the water production of the city of LA. m.ua-cam.com/video/wt5xAcmfaYo/v-deo.html This can also help to restore water levels in land... planting out enough species at different places more north ward and fish farms plus using heat resistant species might be the only option left. Your daughter might not see the underwater world like you did but I surely hope she gets to see a whole new different one full of life that we have to start to work on today. If not all might be lost indeed, but don't let it come to that, I don't care who stands with there feet at the tropical beach of a tropical planet as long as there are people standing there.

Isn't the largest source of methane in the atmosphere from leaking oil/gas wells, including the 6,000 abandoned and leaking in the nearby Wayne National Forest? Also, what about the enormous amount of human generated and solar heat trapped in the environment? Sadly, you do not discuss the "implications" of the massive amount of heat energy that melting ice absorbs: 144 BTUs/pound. C3S estimates 1.2 trillion tons of global ice are melting yearly, so 3.3 billion tons per day. Were it not for this heat absorbing ice, we'd be about 65 degF hotter. This heat absorption is in addition to the 321 million cubic miles of oceans absorbing heat energy to 70 degF on the surface, and the 1 trillion tons of water vapor evaporating into the atmosphere daily, only to fall back to the surface 10 days later, more recently as hail the size of golf balls, tennis balls, or even grapefruit. And yet, we continue to burn 8 billion tons of coal/yr. and 100 million barrels of oil/day. Polymath Eliot Jacobson estimates that an equivalent amount of heat energy to 13 Hiroshima nuclear bomb blasts are entering the environment EVERY SECOND, partly from the Greenhouse effect and partly waste heat generated directly by our burning fossil fuels.

10:14 "Obviously we can't ...." Why not? Of course we can - we just fear the 'cost' And don't fear the far higher 'costs' of tomorrow. "Not brave enough" is the last I like to see on my gravestone

Nick Breeze dresses so cool. A little like a Team America World Police character. In a good way. Of course, Nick Breeze is a quintessentially cool name 😊

When the Oceans die so do we. The last time the Oceans died was 250 million years ago. That's called the Permian Extinction. The Oceans heated up became acidic then stinky pink slimy anaerobic 95% of all life died on Earth.
